Become a Merit Badge Counselor

Troop 800 Parents:

Become a merit badge counselor for Troop 800!

Troop 800 needs parent volunteers to help counsel our scouts through the merit badge-earning process.

"A merit badge counselor's job is to satisfy yourself that each Scout who comes to you meets all the requirements for the merit badge. In this sense you are an examiner. But, your larger opportunity ties in coaching -- helping the Scout over the different hurdles of the requirements and making him aware of the deeper aspects of the subject from your knowledge and experience."

Attached is a listing both by merit badge and by counselor.

- If you are already a counselor, please email me to confirm the badges listed for you are still current. Let me know if you need to add or drop any of the badges listed.

- If you are not a merit badge counselor, consider becoming one! Take a look at the list and see which badges interest you, then email me to let me know of your interest.

Badges and descriptions are also listed at www.meritbadge.com. Choose one or more that interest you and sign up to help! The commitment is worthwhile.
